The study of music is a lifelong journey that allows the traveler to appreciate the beauty of self expression through creation. Singing is one of the most organic forms of music making because your body is the medium of expression. The study of singing will allow you to get in touch with your creativity, confidence, and artistic side through self awareness of your instrument and exploration of the amazing sounds it is capable of.

I am a professional vocalist in the Tampa Bay Area offering in-studio lessons for the St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Tampa, and all surrounding areas. I have a B.M. in Vocal Performance (classical) from the University of South Alabama, a B.M. in Jazz Studies from the University of West Florida and am currently finishing up my M.M. in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas. I work with students ages 5 and up at all levels of experience. Whether you are starting from scratch or just need a little coaching before your next recording session I can help. I have studied with some of the best players and teachers in the world and I love to share that knowledge! Lessons are held at my home studio in St. Petersburg. I can help students with: basic vocal technique with emphasis on classical, music theater, jazz, or other contemporary styles, diction, phrasing, stage presence, mic technique, band leading, arranging, chart making, and finding your own voice through the study of great singers and musicians. For younger students I create a fun environment with games, movement and rhythm to help your child develop an appreciation for great music and a strong foundation for future studies.

For Each Lesson

Please bring a notebook/binder, pencil, staff paper, and water to each lesson. You are welcome and encouraged to record your lessons as well.

Practicing

To become proficient in the art of singing daily practice is a must. In each lesson we will make a clear practice plan for each week. We will strive to make your practice time as manageable as possible with your daily schedule but it is still up to you to make it happen. I recommend a practice planner to help you keep track of your progress.
